Just one of those random thoughts from the top of my head.
Was watching this soap with the family a few nights ago (more like 5-6years ago ). Usual PTV crap.
Mummy telling the Prodigal Sonny boy; ‘Betaw, get married to this doctor chick. I’m scared of dying of something as embarrassing as heart disease since I’m too busy too care for my over-inflated body. She’ll be around and take care of me…’
Now that’s a fact in Pakistani society. Aunties want their future daughter-in-laws to be DOCTORS. In addition to resembling Jessica Alba that is. And that got me thinking… the effect of Aunty as a consumer force in Pakistan. I mean they’re already propelling the medical college industry with their huge demand for medic/dish-washing/childbearing/supermodel-cyborgs.
Earlier this week, I went to the video store to pick up some movies. I’ve probably watched all the good ones I thought. So I see this movie and I started to wonder, by the looks of it ; it was a love story. Personally I think that love stories aren’t the best way to entertain yourself especially when you intend to watch them alone or without any reason such as research or what-so-ever.
The movie titled ‘The lucky one’ was released on the 20th of April 2012 adapted from the novel released in 2008 titled as the same by Nicholas sparks. Starring Zack Effron much known from the musical Disney series ‘High School musical 1,2 and 3.’ Also starring Taylor Schilling and is directed by Scott Hicks.
Anyone who knows me knows I’m a big fan of stealth based gameplay. When I first started playing Skyrim and Deus Ex: Human Revolution I opted for stealthy, one hit kill, assassin type characters, and while they might not have been very optimal builds in terms of success in gameplay (You can’t sneak up on dragons and the boss fights in DE:HR still make me cry) they were very fun.
I didn’t bring this up to talk about those games however, and I didn’t mean this to be an opening for an article about MGS either. No, I wanted to talk to you a bit about the Thief game series.
The first Thief game I played was sometime in the beginning of the millennium (I can’t remember, sometime between Continue Reading
This topic has been buried lately. This was quite the buzz back in 2010. During that time, I composed an article giving reasons to why the world will or will not end in 2012 (i.e this year). That article was published in the newspaper, but not online. Therefore, I shall post it here so that it can be read by a larger audience. Do note that this article is two years old. Some information might be invalid now.
For quite a while now, there has been talk of the ‘End of the World’ in 2012. And now, recently, scientists have predicted that the world might actually end and all life on Earth could finish. Some believe that it is the humans who will trigger this. Others suspect a deadly natural phenomena to occur, while the religious folks believe that it’ll be God who will push the ‘End’ button.
Princess Mononoke was one of the very few Studio Ghibli movies that I had not watched, until today. And now I regret that I had not watched this sooner. A masterpiece such as this deserves higher priority. If any of you have not yet experienced this film, then I highly recommend that you leave everything and watch it now.

Another week that brings you 5 great melodious songs.

Doing justice to the music industry, Amanda Reifer’s vocals completely indulge you in this one. Enjoy!
Right the first thing I wanna say about Last Exile is that it takes a couple of episodes to really warm up to. You keep looking left and right for the first couple of episodes wondering what the hell is going on and when is that narrator going to give us a nice little prologue…. but it never happens. You’re left to fend for yourself and I’ll admit there were a couple of moments when I thought I might drop it but believe me i’m glad I didn’t. Last Exile is a great roller coaster ride that I think would appeal to a large demographic. It pulls you in and the plot keeps you hooked till the last episode. The only thing that I found lacking (aside from the first couple of episodes) was the ending which, though not exactly bad, still left a slightly sour taste in my mouth. But I reiterate it wasn’t a bad ending at all. GONZO pulled out all the stops for this little gem of an anime and it’s one of the best sci-fi animes I’ve seen in ages… Oh and on a side note, Claus reminds me of little Anakin whenever he puts on his helmet and goggles.
