Princess Mononoke was one of the very few Studio Ghibli movies that I had not watched, until today. And now I regret that I had not watched this sooner. A masterpiece such as this deserves higher priority. If any of you have not yet experienced this film, then I highly recommend that you leave everything and watch it now.
As you may have comprehended from my previous opinions on Studio Ghibli movies, I am a huge fan of anime, or Studio Ghibli in particular. Once again, I watched a Studio Ghibli movie and I am here to share my opinion with you. This time, however, it might be a little different from what you were expecting.
I was never a fan of the Sam Raimi films. Rather, I was so disappointed by his first movie (Yes, the first) that I lost faith in Spider-Man. And I was justified, as you can see from the second and third movies. I lost all hope in Spider-Man as a hero. I had read the comics, and watched the animated series on Fox Kids, but the movies were nothing like those.
Then I saw the trailer for this reboot. I was taken by surprise. I noticed how they implemented the web-shooter concept that existed in the animated series. I also liked how Andrew Garfield looked like Peter Parker from the comics (A better resemblance than Toby McGuire anyway) and how there was a Gwen Stacy, instead of that red-headed Mary Jane (Always despised her as a character). A flame of hope rekindled inside of me, and I was very eager to see this new movie. Today, I finally did. And I’m glad to say that it was a great experience.
Oh, and I assure you will not have to endure the pain of having to see Peter Parker dance like an idiot.
Another old Studio Ghibli movie. No, old is an overstatement here… This was the first Studio Ghibli movie. I feel ashamed to have watched it so late. But now that I have, I would like to share my opinion with all of you, especially those who have not watched it yet so that you may understand why watching this is definitely worth it. Read on to find out why.
Since I won’t be playing the game when it comes out, due to my untimely exams, I was ecstatic to hear that the demo was gonna come out. I waited, and waited, and even skipped a day of school for it. Heck, I even woke at 4am just to download it. And I must say, I was greatly rewarded.
