One comes across numerous people claiming to be ‘music lovers’ or ‘hardcore music fans’. But once you ask them which songs they listen to, their reply is always (or 90% of the time) that they like Pitbull, Katy Perry and a bunch of other people who usually make it to the charts. But… are they actually ‘good’?
Personally, I think Pitbull is crap. Similarly, Ms. Perry, Taio Cruz, Enrique Iglesias and all the other drunk singers are worthless. True music lovers know that the good music doesn’t always make it to the charts, with a few exceptions of course (e.g: Rolling in the Deep – Adele).
So, let me give you a lesson a music.
Since 2011 is over, I thought I’d give a list of my favourite music of the year (In no particular order).
- ET – Katy Perry
To be honest, I hate Katy Perry. But this was one song that stuck to me
- Losing My Religion – Dia Frampton
I like the REM version better, but I did not know about it until I heard the Dia version this year. And lets admit it, it’s not a bad attempt. (Edit: I JUST noticed that she was in American Idol 😐 )
- Rolling in the Deep – Adele
Who did NOT like this?!
Music is amazing. There’s no doubt about that. Some of us prefer rock, while others like pop. And there are some of us that like OSTs – be it games, movies or anime.
So, here is my list of anime music that I believe to be one of the best pieces of music composed for anime. Do understand though, that this list is not complete. Awesome anime music is endless, and it is simply impossible to compile all of them.
- ‘Brothers’ from Full Metal Alchemist (Instrumental)
One of my favourite anime of all time. This theme perfectly suits it, but I like the instrumental version more (linked).
