Here I am, with another 5 songs for you to kill your boredom (or ‘I-desperately-need-a-new-song’ craving).
1. Fix you by Coldplay
No one can deny the mighty power that is Coldplay. Although this song might be a little slow, especially in the beginning, it’s a wonderful song with a wonderful message. Give it a shot, if you haven’t already, you might just like it.
WELCOMEE! Today is the first ever post in the series of ‘Musical Thursdays’ (I got late, this week). I’ll be posting every Thursdays (hopefully :P) on different moods/genres of songs, with about at least 10-15 songs that I find awesome. Since this is the first session I just posted, with my respective power as the author, on the topic of my choice (BWAGHAHHA, SUCK IT! :D), but at the end I’d leave a choice of 3 to choose from and the ones who vote for the most, gets selected and posted the next Thursday. So please give feedback, like, share, comment and see if your choice gets selected!
btw: watch the videos at your own discretion. Some may contain mature content. If hesitant then just youtube the lyric video version for them.
1) Hall and Oates – You Make My Dreams
The numbering isn’t in any order of preference, it’s just to let you guys know (as well as, myself) how many songs I posted here so I don’t overdo them 😛 So I’d start by this song by Hall and Oates, though a very old song, which was made famous thanks to the (read: Bestest) romance-comedy movie called~~~~ 500 Days Of Summer! I recommend both this song, and the movie.
One comes across numerous people claiming to be ‘music lovers’ or ‘hardcore music fans’. But once you ask them which songs they listen to, their reply is always (or 90% of the time) that they like Pitbull, Katy Perry and a bunch of other people who usually make it to the charts. But… are they actually ‘good’?
Personally, I think Pitbull is crap. Similarly, Ms. Perry, Taio Cruz, Enrique Iglesias and all the other drunk singers are worthless. True music lovers know that the good music doesn’t always make it to the charts, with a few exceptions of course (e.g: Rolling in the Deep – Adele).
Don’t you get tired of these pathetic songs that come out every other day? All they sing about is “love”, “dancing on the dance floor”, “tonight”, “clubs”, “Dj’s” and other stuff that is repeated continuously. God, I hate them! It drives me crazy when they dominate all the radio stations. Hence, for those of you who are like me and can actually differentiate between good and bad music, I’ve compiled a list of awesome songs that are rare, but amazing. Must Listen.
1. “A Secret Worth Keeping” by The Fire Restart The Fire Restart is a band people have seldom ever heard of. And that is fully justified since the band only has a few (2-3) songs. But they’re better than most songs you hear these days. This particular song sticks to you, if you can get past the screaming and reach the chorus.
Since 2011 is over, I thought I’d give a list of my favourite music of the year (In no particular order).
ET – Katy Perry
To be honest, I hate Katy Perry. But this was one song that stuck to me
Losing My Religion – Dia Frampton
I like the REM version better, but I did not know about it until I heard the Dia version this year. And lets admit it, it’s not a bad attempt. (Edit: I JUST noticed that she was in American Idol 😐 )
Rolling in the Deep – Adele
Who did NOT like this?!
I began video editing last year, and my very first video was a GMV (Game Music Video) of Metal Gear Solid 4: Guns of the Patriots. It showed Raiden fighting (against Vamp and geckos) with the song “In the End” by Linkin Park. Obviously, it wasn’t a great video, mainly because I had no idea what effects were to be used. Heck, I didn’t even use Sony Vegas back then. I used a program called Adobe Premier *something-something* (I don’t remember). Anyway, that video marked my first attempt at editing.
In the same year, the GMV Awards initiated for the first time. I stood no chance, but I submitted my video anyway.
Mylo Xyloto is the fifth studio album of the British alternative rock band, Coldplay. Like in their previous album, Viva la Vida, the band explores new avenues in their attempt to discover something fresh. Dismally, their objective fails and the desired results are not produced.
According to Chris Martin, the lead singer, the album is based on a love story in which two characters, Mylo and Xyloto, meet through a gang called “The Lost Boys” and fall in love. Continue Reading
